Giorgio Da Bormida has 15-year experience as successful business development director and project manager. He founded the Italian management consultancy ELGI specializing in helping clients (e.g., Hewlett-Packard, De Agostini, Universities, Public Administrations) to develop proposals for multi-million euro international projects, based on multi-partner teams. He began his career as a high-tech project manager for GIUNTI Publishing Group, then moving up as Research and Business Development Manager winning high level EU-funded projects multiple times and managing an 8-person team reporting directly to the CEO. Da Bormida was the project coordinator of MOBIlearn, the World largest project on mobile learning, joint effort of EU, US-NSF and AU-DEST.

Through that work, he set up a network of European consultants, mainly operating in Southern Europe, many of whom are now available via Strategic Initiatives' new practices in the Mediterranean and GCC Regions for which Mr. Da Bormida is responsible as Practice Manager.

His consultancy ELGI was highly successful in acquiring public funds for companies of all sizes. In the last 3 years Mr. Da Bormida, through his ELGI, was successful in acquiring 56 projects of research and international collaboration.

Mr. Da Bormida s mother tongue is Italian and he has excellent written and spoken language skills in English and basic spoken and written skills in French, Spanish and Thai. Further to an engineering degree, Da Bormida is author of book chapters and papers in international conferences.
